Home Workouts without Weights for Men

Working out at a gym can be fun but it can also be a hassle. The question of working out at the gym or working out at home all comes down to the individual. It’s important to ask yourself questions like: What do I want from working out? What motivates me? Do I like the gym atmosphere or would I prefer to workout at home? If you’re reading this article, chances are that you have chosen to workout at home. If not then I would guess that you’re highly considering it. So I’ll go ahead and tell you why you’re making the right call.

Benefits of Home Workouts

- Save time by not traveling back and forth to the gym

- No waiting for other people to get off the equipment that you need

- Your own personal choice of music without the need of ear buds

- Save money by eliminating gym fees

It’s not that working out at a gym is bad, it’s just that working out at home can be a lot less complicated. Unfortunately, a common thought is that the gym is a better place to get results. Guys usually say things like, ‘Well, the gym has a lot of great equipment. I can’t challenge myself with home workouts.’ This is false, of course. All it takes is a little research and you can find plenty of home workout exercises that will challenge your muscles. Some that work better than many common gym exercises. That’s because many of the weight machines out there, cause us to be lazy and focus on one muscle at a time. To get healthy fit and strong, all that you need is your own bodyweight. That doesn’t mean that I don’t like or use weights. Because I definitely do. Lifting weights is one of the best forms of exercises that we can do, if we do it right. So if you want to include weights in your at home workouts then you definitely should. But if you can’t afford them at the time, you can still get a great workout without them. The only time that I would say you need weights as part of your workout is if you plan on competing in a weightlifting sport. I would hope that would be a no-brainer. However, you can get stronger in many of the common lifts just by using bodyweight exercise. It just makes more sense to practice with the same equipment that you compete with.

 Motivation

Another common issue is motivation. Many guys can’t seem to find the motivation to push themselves or workout at all when they stay home. Different things motivate different guys to different degrees. A lot of guys can workout by themselves and get great results while others do their best when they have a workout buddy. You could try working out at home with a workout partner to see if that will push you. If going to the gym is what really motivates you for whatever reason then I say do it. It’s important to find what motivates you and do it. My home workouts are designed for people who stay at home, but the exercises can also be used as part of a gym workout as well. And they also work as a great alternative for those days that you just can’t make it to the gym. Take two weeks to get used to the form for these exercises and then start adding a rep or two to the last two sets of each exercise.
